My Sandals Trip, March 2018
I have just returned from a 4 day trip to Sandals resorts in Montego Bay, Jamaica and had the most amazing experience! From my room, to the service, food and people I could not rave about these All-Inclusive Resorts more!
As an agent I feel it's important to not only train as a specialist with certain companies, but to also experience their product so that I can offer my clients first hand knowledge. Every now and again I am lucky enough to be able to participate on an agent FAM (short for familiarization) trip where I join a group of agents hosted by a company representative. We spend a couple of days experiencing a certain resort and in this case, with 4 Sandals Resorts in the Montego Bay area in Jamaica, we got to go on resort tours of 4 different Sandals properties!
My experience started at the Montego Bay Airport where I was greeted by a Sandals representative and shown to the exclusive Sandals arrivals lounge to await my transfer. My luggage was tagged for the resort I was staying at and I was free to relax and enjoy the complimentary pastries and drinks (which included beer on tap!) in the comfortable and beautifully decorated rooms. I only had about a 15 minute wait and they announced clearly when my bus was ready to depart. My luggage was taken for me to the bus (these are not Sandals staff but they let you know that porters with red caps are the ones handling your luggage, so you know everything is safe). The bus was very comfortable and it was only a 15 minute drive to Sandals Royal Caribbean.
Our home base was Sandals Royal Caribbean and on arrival I was greeted with a cool towel and glass of champagne...oh and a friendly peacock just roaming around in the lobby! I was shown to the Club Lounge where I waited for my Butler to escort me to my room as I was assigned a Butler Suite for my stay (all Sandals Butlers are trained by the Guild of Professional English Butlers). There are so many reasons to book a Butler level room at Sandals, from private check in to dedicated butlers to take care of your every need during your stay. If you would like to know more of what is included with a Butler Suite please contact me and I will be happy to talk to you about this service in detail.
My luggage was taken to my room for me and was waiting for me along with a bottle of champagne on ice and a plate of chocolate covered fruit and treats.
I was lucky enough to experience a Crystal Lagoon Honeymoon Butler Suite as my room. For all of my Honeymoon and Destination Wedding clients, this room is everything you could wish for in a romantic getaway! It was a very spacious room located in the Clarence Building with a beautiful four poster king size bed, lounge area with couch, desk and table for two. A huge bathroom with walk in shower and Jacuzzi soaker tub and large balcony with the most comfortable couch (my favorite spot to relax at the end of the day) and beautiful view of the Crystal Lagoon swim up pool, gardens and the ocean, even though this was not considered an ocean view room. (Picture at the top is the view from the balcony).
Included in my room was a fully stocked fridge with bottled water, a selection of soda pop, fruit juice, beer and white wine and a bar with red wine, a selection of top shelf spirits, coffee, tea and all the appropriate glasses and mugs etc. This was all re-stocked daily.
As part of the butler experience a hot bath with bubbles and flower petals was waiting for me every afternoon when I returned to my room!
As I arrived late in the afternoon I made it just in time to join in our hosted cocktail party which took place in the gardens, a beautiful setting where private dinners and parties can be booked. We then had dinner at the Regency Restaurant onsite and were seated at an outside table with lit tiki torches and a view of the private island and over water bungalows all lit up. I ate the surf and turf (steak and lobster tail) which was delicious! All the food I tasted over my stay and visit to other resorts was excellent. On the 2nd night I dined at Le Jardinier, the french cuisine specialty restaurant (reservations required) and had the most tender, fall off the bone lamb shank I have ever had!
The resort by night is just as stunning as in the day, with fire pits along the shore, beautifully lit pools and gardens. This is the time of day when the English pub and Piano bar come alive and you can enjoy some of the fun and colourful drinks served by the super friendly barmen! Sandals Royal Caribbean has great evening entertainment though at this resort it does end quite early, after 10.30pm things are very quiet and not much is going on so it is perfect for those who are looking for a quieter resort...for those who prefer to carry on a little later the free shuttles to the other nearby Sandals Montego Bay or Sandals Inn can enjoy the play at all three inclusion and enjoy the atmosphere at these other great properties!
Check back tomorrow for Day 2 of my trip where I will show you around Sandals Montego Bay, Sandals Inn and more of Sandals Royal Caribbean including room highlights, inside the over water bungalows, around the resorts and more!
If you are interested in knowing more about what is included in a Sandals Resort All-Inclusive Vacation or are looking to book your next trip contact me and I will happily talk you through your options.
I look forward to talking with you..."Ya Mon!"
("Ya Mon" means "No Problem" in Jamaica...you will hear this everywhere and it will become part of your vocabulary by the end of your trip!)
